Senior Director, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs
The position is responsible for serving as an advocate and scientific resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) regulatory advocacy and research efforts, including support of domestic and international microplastic research programs, engagement with ACC’s Long Range Research Initiative, and engagement on various federal, state and international science policy activities. The position is further responsible for developing, managing and sustaining relationships with the various offices in the U.S. government and relevant scientific researchers. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Regulatory & Scientific Affairs.
Manager, Political Mobilization
The position is responsible for enhancing the advocacy efforts of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) by creating champions from targeted members of Congress through direct political engagement within their applicable districts. The position is also responsible for assisting and motivating member company facilities representatives to execute robust engagement in field-based political and grassroots activities.
Director, Global Affairs
The position is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating administrative, technical, and policy advocacy across a range of global priorities. The position is responsible for developing, managing, and sustaining relationships with the appropriate offices in the U.S. and foreign governments and intergovernmental organizations, and private sector partners. The position is responsible for coordinating related technical and regulatory support to other ACC divisions and departments, including product- and sector-specific groups. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Global, Regulatory & Scientific Affairs.
Human Resources Manager, CHEMTREC
This position is responsible for leading the human resources activities for CHEMTREC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The position will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding and training CHEMTREC staff. The position reports directly to the Chief Executive, CHEMTREC.
Training Specialist, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for supporting the Training Manager across the CHEMTREC Training program lifecycle. The position is also responsible for working inbound order requests, fulfilling orders for off-the-shelf training, and working with the team to develop and implement new training modules. The position reports directly to the Training Manager.
Sales Manager, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for identifying sales opportunities on key accounts and working closely with the Customer Care team, the Business Developers, and the Regional Directors to capture opportunities. The position is also responsible for ooverseeing the staff responsible for onboarding clients as well as providing consultative recommendations and sales best practices to support CHEMTREC growth. The position reports directly to the Sales Director.
Sales Consultant, CHEMTREC
The position is responsible for closing prospective clients. The position is also responsible for leading all pre-contract discussions with a prospective client and capturing the opportunity within the CHEMTREC CRM System. This position reports directly to the Senior Sales Manager.
Director, Chemical Products and Technology
The position is primarily responsible for representing the American Chemistry Council’s Center for Biocide Chemistries (CBC) in interactions with regulatory agencies, legislative bodies, scientific organizations, and other trade associations. This position may also support other groups within CPTD (referred to as “assigned groups” below), including CPTD-led science practice areas (e.g., ACC Center for Chemical Safety). The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Chemical Products and Technology.
Coordinator, Sustainability & Market Outreach
The position is responsible for supporting designated staff who develop strategies that advance positive science-based positions on environment, health, and safety issues in downstream value-chain markets. This includes supporting targeted outreach programs, coordinating research projects, and supporting cooperation between American Chemistry Council (ACC) members, ACC staff and member groups, and key downstream private sector organizations and their members. The position reports directly to the Managing Director, Sustainability & Market Outreach.
Manager, Digital Communications
The position develops and oversees digital and social content and engagement initiatives and contributes to the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) overall communications strategies that align with the organization’s policy objectives. The position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical support in maintaining and enhancing ACC’s digital initiatives, as well as driving the development and execution of a clearly defined social media strategy in support of the organization’s advocacy goals and objectives. The position is also responsible for coordinating, editing and publishing fresh content for ACC’s network of websites and social media handles, as well as ensuring the content for AmericanChemistry.com and the MemberExchange extranet is cohesive. The Manager will have responsibilities in digital communications strategy, digital communications content, digital communications reporting, and departmental and organizational administration. She/he works closely with the Web Project Manager and reports directly to the Sr. Director, Marketing & Digital Communications.
Managing Director, Communications
The position is responsible for serving as the lead communications strategist for the American Chemistry Council (ACC), deploying a full suite of communication tools, tactics, and strategies in support of ACC policy priorities; industry reputation, including crisis communications; executive communications and thought leadership; and member engagement. The position requires a highly diligent and confident individual with significant management experience who will lead a team comprising diverse communication roles including media and public relations; digital and social content development and marketing; and member communications. The position oversees the overall work activities of the Communications department, inspiring, empowering, and developing team members while driving organizational alignment in messaging. The position provides executive communications support to the President and CEO and reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Communications, Sustainability, and Market Outreach.
Plastics: Director, Plastic Building & Construction
The position is responsible for providing strategic, proactive leadership and professional management of the Plastics Division’s engagement on advocacy and outreach in the building and construction (B&C) sector. In that regard the position is responsible for developing, refining and delivering strategies to achieve strategic goals; developing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; and organizing campaigns to impact relevant legislation, regulation, and model building codes. The position supports and manages the Division’s B&C member team, Foam Sheathing, and North American Modern Building Alliance. The B&C Director works closely with and ensures seamless coordination with other ACC and Plastics Division internal stakeholders who have interests in B&C issues. The position reports to the Senior Director, Durable Markets Advocacy.
Regulatory & Technical Affairs: Senior Director, Chemical Management
The position serves as an advocate and technical resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) chemical management and regulatory advocacy efforts. The position has a particular focus on risk evaluation and risk management. The position is also responsible for supporting ACC’s advocacy on a diverse range of technical and scientific issues at both the domestic and international levels, including support for relevant ACC committees and subgroups, on risk evaluation and risk management. The position reports directly to the Vice President, Regulatory and Technical Affairs.
Regulatory & Technical Affairs: Director, Chemical Management
This position serves as a technical resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) risk assessment advocacy efforts. The position has a particular focus on chemical assessment and exposure assessment. The position reports directly to Senior Director in the Regulatory and Technical Affairs Division.
Regulatory & Technical Affairs: Manager, Chemical Management
This position is responsible for supporting state, federal, and international chemical management policy advocacy and research to advance science-based solutions for risk assessment and risk management of chemicals. The position will support ACC’s engagement with state regulatory and legislative agencies, federal regulatory agencies, and research organizations. The position reports directly to Senior Director in the Regulatory and Technical Affairs Division.

Legal Services: Assistant General Counsel
The position is responsible for providing legal counsel and policy support on American Chemistry Council (ACC) advocacy issues related to chemical products, protecting ACCs legal interests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. The position is also responsible for managing legal matters in assigned areas, including assisting in the selection of outside counsel as needed, managing outside counsel, and ensuring projects come in at or below budget. The position coordinates legal issues with appropriate in-house ACC staff and reports directly to the General Counsel.
Federal Affairs: Director
The position is responsible for managing the American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s sustainability, chemical management, plastics and environmental advocacy efforts and sharing responsibilities for supporting ACC’s product panel groups and understanding their interests in active and proposed legislation. The position is also responsible for policy strategy, and scheduling and facilitating meetings with legislators on behalf of assigned product panel groups and responding to regulatory inquiries and requests to testify at public hearings. The position collaborates with appropriate in-house ACC colleagues and reports to the Vice President, Federal Affairs.
Sustainability & Market Outreach: Director, Market Outreach
The position is responsible for designing and executing partnership development and relationship management on behalf of the SMO department, including serving as a key point of contact for sustainability programs and market place outreach for the chemicals sector. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Sustainability and Market Outreach.
